Thomas ACRES was convicted at Norwich, Norfolk, England on 31 July 1847 for burglary - housebreaking and stealing money. 10 yr transportation sentence. 10 yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship 'Rodney' arriving there Nov 1850. Aged 25yrs; single man; farm labourer; 5'3 1/2"; fair complexion; dark brown hair; grey eyes; Church of England; can read a little. Native place of birth: nr Norwick, Norfolk, England (ref. convict record) Father: Thomas (ref. Convict Indent record) Mother: Mary Brothers: William, James, Joseph, David. Sister: Mary VDL: Passholder status upon arrival. 1851: W. Stewart, New Town, nr Hobart. 7 Dec 1852: Ticket of Leave granted. 29 Nov 1853: Conditional Pardon approved.
