Charles Allen was 18 years old when convicted at Glamorgan. Charles Allen; Parish: Pendoylan; County: Glamorgan; Status: Labourer Offence Burglary of prosecutor's house and stealing wearing apparel. Prisoner aged 18. Location and date Parish: Pendoylan; County: Glamorgan; Date: 18 January 1830 Prosecutor David Evans Plea Not guilty. Verdict Guilty. Punishment Death recorded. Assigned to William Dun - Patterson's Plains on arrival. 1832: Sentenced to 3 years in a penal settlement for attempting the life of his overseer and striking him with a bludgeon, Newcastle. Sent to Norfolk Island. 18/8/1835: Returned. 20/1/1836: Absconded from J Wighton since 5th Jan. 7/9/1836: Absconded from the AA Company, Port Stephens. 28/9/1836: Apprehended. 1837: Assigned to the AA Company, Port Stephens. 23/6/1843: TOL 1843: Married - the only marriage on the NSW BDM was to Jane Coonan at Mulgoa. 15/10/1843: Tried at the Sydney Supreme Court for Highway Robbery being armed - sentenced to life. 1/3/1844: Arrived VDL per 'Louisa' 15/11/1844: Was at Port Arthur. 23/7/1846: Tried for stealing from a dwelling house - Sent to Norfolk Island again. 17/11/1849: To be sent to VDL for disposal. 16/3/1852: Absconded 22/10/1854: Apprehended in Victoria - sent back to Port Arthur. 10/3/1857: TOL 1/9/1857: TOL revoked for being AWOL 1878: 2nd marriage to Susannah Eliza Allen. 1893: Died at Hobart.
