Amos Scols was transported on the Henry, departing 31st Mar 1823 and arriving 26th Aug 1823 with 161 passengers.
Henry 1825. The ship Henry, Captain Ferrier, arrived at Hobart Town, on the 9th ult. with 79 female prisoners, all whom were landed with the exception of two. There were also on board 25 free women, and 33 children, who came out, at the expence of Government, to join their husbands and parents. Sydney Gazette, 3 Mar 1825.

Elizabeth Harrison, whom he married was a convict, transported on "Sovereign" 1829. She was also known as Phoebe Stirrup, but tried and convicted, at Manchester on 18th April 1825 as Elizabeth Harrison. And again 20th October 1828, this time transported. Amos or Enoch died 17th November 1833, aged only 27, just 1 week after the birth of his daughter. The cause of death was 'Accidental Discharge of a Musket'.
Convicted under the name Cowles but arrived here as Scols. Used the name Enoch Cole for the 1828 census at both Windsor & Muswellbrook (recorded twice). Married using the name Cowles. Headstone reads Cowles. Daughter recorded as Harriet Cole. Step sons death record says Enoch Cole. No Birth has been found for Enoch Cole however there is a good fit for Amos Cowles with possible parents Thomas Cowles & Mary Critchley
Amos Scols is probably an alias name. Born 1806 (from his COF 19 Feb 1830). Married convict Elizabeth Harrison 2 Sep 1832 Newcastle and signed the name Amos Cowle. His daughter b. 9 May 1833 was named Harriet C Cole. His headstone reads Cowles. In the 1828 Census we find a Enoch Cole, government servant, aged 21, Protestant, of Henry 1823 (as there were no "Cole" convicts onboard the Henry this must be our Amos). His stepson has recorded on his death certificate that his father was Enoch Cole. No christening parish record has been found in any name that is a sure fit.
