Thomas Appleby was born in County Durham, England in 1815.
On 28/7/1835 he was sentenced in County Antrim to 7 years for stealing clothes - Listed as 20 years old.

Assigned to James Wright at Lanyon
Became overseer in charge of 20 men.

1840: TOL Queanbeyan.

8/9/1841: Married Elizabeth Bain – they had 12 children.
They lived in the overseers cottage at Lanyon Homestead.

C1841: Granted the license for the Fleece Inn at Booth’s “Flats.

23/5/1842: COF

Later employed as a labourer, stockman, bushman, baker, hotelkeeper,  he also operated a eucalyptus plant.

5/9/1901: Thomas died, aged 85 at Bermagui, NSW.

Elizabeth died 18/6/1908 also at Bermagui, NSW.
