William Ashton was transferred from NSW to van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Kangaroo', arriving 1 Aug 1816. Convict no. 1665. His Conduct Record merely states "Killed by accident 29/5/1820". Tasmanian Archives ref.
