Charles Bankes was 14 years old on arrival (Although the National Archives gives his age as 16 at his trial). Charles was single, transported for "Stealing a shawl from a shop", and his native place was St. Johns, New Brunswick, Canada. Charles was a black African, one of eight that were convicted in Ireland, as referenced in a book called "Africans in Britain" Edited by David Killingray. 20/3/1845: COF Found no other records.
