Hobart, on 7 July 1867, for larceny, sentence 5 years, native of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, age 64yrs, 5 feet 8 inches high, grey hair, F.S., Cannon & rammer 3 spots, N.B. on left arm, N.B. on right arm. Tasmania Police Gazette, 25th Aug 1871, p139. Return of Person convicted during the week ending 6 Jan 1872. Baptiste Ninian, per Maria Somes 2, F.S., of larceny at Richmond, sentenced to 1 month, native of Newcastle upon Tyne, cook, 66yrs, 5 feet 7 inches high. Tasmania Police Gazette, 12th Jan 1872, p7. Prisoner Discharged from HM Gaols & Houses of Corrections, Hobart & Launceston, weeks ending 3 Aug & 7 Aug 1872. Ninian Baptiste, per Maria Somes 2, tried at Hobart, 6 Feb 1872, for Being in a dwelling with intent etc, served 6 months, native of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, 66 yrs, 5 feet 6 inches, grey hair, F.S., scar above the right eye.
