DEATH: 4 April, 1847: Died in Hobart Hospital. There are no further details in this document (Tasmania, Australia, Convict Court and Selected Records, 1800-1899; Register; Registers of convict deaths, 1845-1874).


IN VDL: 6 September, 1844: On arrival in VDL, he was listed as convict #13841, 31 years old, married to Harriet with two children; a porter, Protestant and able to read. His native place was Leeds. 16 March, 1847: Listed as a PPH (Probation Pass Holder) 2nd Class. 29 March, 1847: Sent from the Prisoners' Barracks to Hobart Hospital (https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON33-1-59$init=CON33-1-59p47). --0--

BURIAL: 5 April, 1847: Benjamin Bapty, 34, per Barrossa [sic], Bond, Protestant, and who died in the General Hospital, Hobart, on 4 April was buried in the grounds of the Prisoner's Barracks.
