Arrived with 177 male Convicts (14 dv) Carried 30 Crew + 41 Marines Master: Duncan Sinclair She was the largest of the eleven vessels of the historic First Fleet to Australia. The First Fleet consisted of two Royal Navy escort ships, HMS Sirius and HMS Supply accompanied by six convict transports, the Alexander, Charlotte, Friendship, Lady Penrhyn, Prince of Wales and the Scarborough, and three store ships, the Borrowdale, Fishburn and Golden Grove. Tasmanian Convict Record. https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON40-1-1$init=CON40-1-1p76 23. Mary Barrett. Alexander 1816. Tried Dublin 1814, 7 years. March 12 1825. Leaving George Town without a pass, Reprimanded. May 17 1830. F.S. Drunk on Saturday night. Fined 5/-. Q. Sessions Hobarton 21 May 1845. Larceny, To be imprisoned & kept to hard labor at the House of Correction for Females at Hobarton for 6 calendar months. To be sent to the Cascade Factory on the separate system for ??? of Col. Secty. 31/5/45. ----------------------------------------------------- Quarter Sessions. Mary Barrett, an old woman, who pleaded guilty to stealing two pieces of mousseline-de-laine from the shop of Messrs. Nathan & Co., six months' hard labour in the house of correction. This comparatively mild sentence was inflicted in consequence of the previous character of the prisoner; she was drunk, however, when she committed the offence. Colonial Times, Hobart, 24 May 1845.
