1829 - Waterloo's first voyage arrived at Sydney Cove 9 July 1829. 180 Male Convicts. 2 Died on voyage. 7 sent to the hospital on landing. Total mustered; 171. Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

Charles Bennett was convicted at Guildford for cattle stealing. Life sentence. Transported to NSW, Australia on the 'Waterloo' 1829. Transferred to Norfolk Island for 5yrs. Further conviction at Sydney, NSW, 20/05/1840 for horse stealing. 10yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Lady Franklin', arriving 12/10/1845. Port Cygnet Station Gang for 1 yr in 1845. Emerged from Gang 15/05/1846. Single man; Protestant; read & write; trade - Groom; 5'4 3/4"; aged 40; ruddy complexion; brown curly hair; blue eyes. Native Place: Oxford, England. Ticket of Leave 20/10/1846 Conditional Pardon 04/12/1849.
