1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842.
189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew.
Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842.
They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.
