James Bergin was 22 years old and was transported for "Malicious assault". James was single and his native place was Queens County. 1842: TOL Carcoar 9/7/1847: COF 13/11/1848: Married Sarah Colgan at Hartley. They had 7 children. Sarah was born in 1820 and died 14/3/1892, aged 72 at Carcoar. James was a blacksmith and the licencee of the Farrier's Arms, mt. Victoria, District of Hartley in 1856-60, and took it up again a few years lated until 1868. 19/5/1887: James died of cancer of the tongue and jaw, aged 72 at Carcoar.
