Her brother Matthew, 2 years older, had been transported for 7 years and arrived on the second trip of the "Hive" in 1835.




Mary Married Jonathan Wardley 15th June 1840 at Port MacQuarie, then George Mills on 2 April 1844 at Bathurst and 1849 John Wilson, all convicts.




The Convict Indentures state that Mary Berry was 20 years old. She could read; religion Roman Catholic; status single and a native of Galway. She was a country servant. Mary was convicted of stealing clothes at Galway City in July 1837 and sentenced to 7 years. She had one prior convictions and served one month. Physical attributes: Height 5 feet 0 1/2 inches, complexion dark ruddy and freckled; hair brown and eyes dark grey. Transport number 139. Prisoner number 138-38.
