Stephen Blake was listed as 41 years old on arrival. Native Place: Salisbury. Stephen could read, was protestant, wife and 6 children on the parish - 5'4½" tall, dark ruddy complexion, dark brown hair, dark grey eyes. 29/7/1826 The Australian, Sydney: Stephen Blake, belonging to the prisoners' barracks, and found drunk in the street, was sentenced to 12 lashes. 21/5/1827 Sydney Gazette: Thomas Allen and Stepohen Blake, charged with stealing a ham from their master's house, and concealing the same in a field, where it was found. There not being sufficient proof against the prisoners they were acquitted; but, on account of their general bad character they were turned into Government employ. 1836: TOL Parramatta 27/4/1844 Parramatta Chronicle, NSW: The drunkards' list contained two charges. Stephen Blake and John Brooks, the former of whom in consequence of his making a promise not to offend again, and pleading as an assurance, that he would keep his pledge inasmuch that upwards of a whole twelve months had elapsed since he last made his debut in a similar character ; he was discharged with a caution. Brooks being rather a more frequent visitant was mulched in the sum of 6s.8d. and 1s.8d costs. 20/6/1846 Sydney Morning Herald: TICKETS OF LEAVE CANCELLED. Stephen Blake, per Sesostris, for being repeatedly drunk; Parramatta. 15/8/1846 Sydney Morning Herald: AS ABOVE. 3/11/1846: AS ABOVE. 1847: TOL Parramatta 13/2/1863: Convict Death Register - Stephen Blake died at the Invalid Establishment, Parramatta. Entry states he was 18?? (must be a mistake) and that he was on bond.

The business of the Summer Assizes for the county of Wilts, commenced at our Council Chamber on Monday last, ...The following prisoners were tried, and sentenced as under : DEATH - ...Stephen Blake, for stabbing and cutting Elizabeth, his wife, at the work-house, of New Sarum....
