Convict Notes
Reuben was convicted along with Crofts and Lasher. He had been imprisoned twice before, once 6 months for poaching and 3 months for fighting. He had dark blue eyes, light reddish hair, 5'7 1/2" tall, single and had many tattoos on his arms hands and back. 4/101838: TOL 1839: Full Pardon. 1846: Married Mary Ann Stratton(B1826-D1913) in Launceston. They had 13 children. 1848 Census: Westbury, was a farmer. 1856: Placed on the Electoral Roll in the District of Westbury. 24//9/1885: Died and is buried at St. Andrews Anglican Church Cemetery at Carrick. The name plate on his grave gives the dates 1810-1885 but there are other birth dates for him 1811, 1813 etc. Mary Ann died in 1813 and is buried in the same cemetery. Reuben also had a nephew, Squire Blazely transported on the Emerald Isle 1843 to VDL.
