Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

Convict Notes
There were prisoners for trial, of whom ten were capitally convicted, and had sentence of Death recorded against them, viz. — Saul Boniface, for stealing the 6th January, at Southbersted, one ewe sheep, the property of Edward New. … Sussex Advertiser, 31 March 1828. At the Sussex Assizes, held at Horsham, on Monday the 24th of March, and three following days, before the Hon. Sir James Burrough, Knt. and Sergeant d'Oyley, George Collins and Dinah Stanford, for highway robbery; William Tapner, Thomas Norman, and Saul Boniface, for sheep stealing; Thomas Slater, Peter and Richard Collins, and Stephen Harding for burglary and Wm. Clark for horse stealing, severally received sentence of death, but were reprieved before the judge left the town. Hampshire Chronicle, 7 Apr 1828.
