John William Percival Broadhurst was the illegitimate son of Martha Broadhurst. On the Sixteenth day of January 1822 there was a order made by which advises that George Short was the father of John. Therefore he could not have been born 17 February 1822. I believe he was born in 1821. There is a document I have that states he was sixteen weeks on in February 1822. John had two wives. His first marriage was to Margaret Bate on Married Apr 11 1841 by Thomas Lowe. Marriage Certificate 113 St Pauls Church, Warrington, County of Lancaster. They had two sons born in England James born 1840 and Joseph born 1842 died 1944 Warrington England. Joseph died before Margaret left England. John and Margaret had two other sons John Born 1861 and Thomas Born 1864. John married a female convict in Tasmania Sarah Evans on 29 October 1849 at St Georges Hobart. They had two daughters Sarah and Martha.
