1837, 14 August: Patrick BYRNE was admitted to Kilmainham Gaol, Dublin, from Wicklow (prisoner #664). He had been tried on 3 July 1837, convicted and sentenced to life for cow stealing. He was described as 25, 5’6” tall with brown eyes, sandy hair and a dark complexion. 1837, 19 August: Discharged to be “embarked on the convict ship Neptune” (see Ireland, Prison Registers, 1790-1924; Dublin, Kilmainham 1815-1910).
