Richard Martin Case was the licensee of the Walcha Hotel when it opened in April 1859. In Feb 1863 he was fined 1/- and paid 4/6 costs at Walcha Police Court for allowing his lamp to go out, 6 days later he suffered a stroke and died

Martin Case was charged with picking pockets and found guilty with larceny - stealing from the person of George Payne one hat and one watch - He was held at Ilchester Gaol from the 6th AUG 1836 and transferred to the Hulk "York" at Gosport on the 6th Sept 1836 - he was described as Sallow complexion, slightly pockpitted, brown hair and grey eyes
