5ft 51/2 ins tall. Stout, fresh complexion, oval visage, dark brown hair, hazel eyes. Arrived Hobart 12 Jan 1840. 18 month probation at Bridgewater then worked for Mr F Bryant New Norfolk. TOL granted March 2nd 1846. Conditional pardon Feb 1848. 16 Sep 1852 married Sarah Lee. Settled Melbourne. 3 children. Left wife Jane in Somerset who he had married 1831 plus 3 children. He had lived at Steerpoint, Burton Lane, East Coker when in England.
