John Corrigan was convicted at Tipperary, Ireland and given a 7yr transportation sentence. Travelled to New South Wales, Australia on the ship ‘Surrey’ arriving 1816.

John CORRIGAN – per Surry 1 (2), born 1783, native place Co Tipperary, labourer; tried 1815 at Tipperary and sentenced to 7 years, was admitted to Kilmainham Gaol, Dublin, on 11 January 1816 (prisoner #2378, committed by Sgt Moore). He was discharged from the jail on 16 May 1816 to be “sent on board the convict ship” (see Ireland, Prison Registers, 1790-1924; Dublin, Kilmainham 1815-1910).
