James Cowley was convicted at Adelaide S.C. 25 Nov 1850 for uttering a forged cheque. 10 yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Antares' arriving 2 Jan 1851. Married; aged 19yrs; 5'9"; can read & write; Church of England. Native place - Forest Green, Gloucestershire Father - Robert Mother - Sarah Sister - Caroline Brothers - Joseph, Thomas, Daniel & .... Wife - Louisa (on board this ship) Came to Adelaide about 11yrs ago, with his family. 15 mths Probation Period. 1851: Cascades (south Hobart) 1851: New Town (Hobart)
