Built at Harwich in 1811 a square-rigged transport ship of 443 tons and copper lined she had two decks with a height between decks of 5 ft. 8 ins. In 1818, she had a major refit increasing the decks (and convict carrying capacity) to three. She was owned by the London firm of F. & C.F. Mangles.

29/2/1840 Windsor and Eton Express Berkshire, England: BERKS LENT ASSIZES Thomas Crofts, alias Siney, aged 25, and his wife Emma Crofts, aged 29, were charged with having on the 13th of Sept. at Finchampstead, broken and entered the dwelling-house of Charles King, and stolen a cloak, a petticoat, a smock-frock, and other articles, his property. The prisoners were found Guilty, Thomas Crofts to be tyransported for life, and his wife for fifteen years. Emma Crofts was convicted along with her husband, Thomas Crofts (Maitland 1840). Emma was 30 years old on arrival - native place: Kent. Emma could read, was Catholic, married (as above) with 1 female child, 5'2½" tall, ruddy and freckled complexion, brown hair, dark hazel eyes, small mole on right jaw, another on right side of neck small scar on centre of upper lip, TCHC on upper left arm, scar on knuckle of forefinger of left hand. 1846: TOL Parramatta 14/8/1848: TOL Passport, on the application of Messrs Donaldson & Co.
