Samuel Day. Wife Mary Bolton(arrived first fleet). Children mary Sullivan/Day, Catherine/Sullivan Day ref;the forgotten generation by reg wright. page = people who boarded lady nelson at norfolk island 20 jan 1813 sailing to port dalrymple V.D.L. "samuel,a sawyer sailed to v.d.l on lady nelson with a wife and 2 children. as early as june 1794,,mary bolton who was the N.I hospital nurse for over 8 yrs,was shown as Days wife and in accordance with the victualling book "rules" her name changed from bolton to day in dec. 1810. At the same time,children catherine (11 yrs) and mary sullivan (16 years)changed their surnames to Day.As the children had not been classed as orphans,one has to assume they came from an earlier association of Samuel Day with a deceased sullivan mother" pg 136.
