Catherine Delaney was transported on the Rolla, departing 4th Nov 1802 and arriving 12th May 1803 with 161 passengers.
On Thursday arrived the Ship Rolla, Captain John Cummings, from Ireland, with Prisoners of both sexes, viz. 119 Men and 37 Women: Seven of whom died on the passage; and the day after her arrival landed some of those who were weakly, at the General Hospital. She left Ireland the 4th of November, arrived at Rio de Janeiro on the 15th of January, sailed from thence the 6th of February, and in 95 days after came to an anchor in Port Jackson. During the latter part of the passage she experienced much bad weather; in the course of which, she sprung her main?mast and carried away her main?yard. She brings, for the use of Government, 234 pieces of Pork, 686 Casks of Flour, and 11 Tons of Sugar. Sydney Gazette, 15 May 1803.

In the colony, in late 1803, Catherine formed a defacto relationship with Thomas Green (Convict, Royal Admiral, 1800). They had 6 children. Then after Green died in 1815, She formed another relationship in about 1819, with Patrick Bambridge (Convict, Guildford, 1818) and they had a further 2 children. When she was aged about 48, in late 1828, she did marry, Richard Shelby (Convict, General Hewiit, 1814). Catherine is recorded in the 1828 Census of New South Wales, on page 338 with her husband. Silby, Catherine, (no age), Rolla, 1814, 7, at Pitt St. Sydney. [S0905] Four of her children, all recorded with the surname Green, are also listed as Lodgers with R'd Selby, Pitt Street.
