Colonial Secretary’s Office, Sydney, 23d July, 1833. THE undermentioned Persons have obtained Certificates of Freedom during the last week, viz. Brothers (2), Bridget Dickson




1828 Census NSW. At Female Government Factory, Parramatta. Mustered 29 Oct 1828 Bridt. Dixon, age 22, C. Per Brothers 1827, 7 years, catholic.




ADM 101/13/7. Medical and surgical journal of the Brothers convict ship for 13 August 1826 to 15 February 1827 by James Forrester [Toncster?], Surgeon and Superintendent, during which time the said ship was employed in transporting female convicts to New South Wales. Folios 2-3: Bridget Dickson, aged 20; case number 2; disease or hurt, fever. Put on sick list, 5 November 1826. Discharged 4 January 1827 in robust health.




On 29th August 1831, at Parramatta, Bridget married William Jones (Welsh Convict, 1818, "Tottenham") The couple had at least 3 children, George 1832, Margaret 1833 and Theresa 1837. The daughter, Margaret married, John Armstrong in 1852 and went on to have a very large family (at least 13). John was the son of John Armstrong (Irish Convict, 1799, "Hillsborough") and Catherine Mangan (Irish Convict, 1924, "Almorah").
