William Dillon was indicted for stealing a horse, the property of William Scott. Mr. Scott stated, that he left his horse at the door of a Mr. Ferguson on Bachelor’s-walk, on Tuesday last, and having gone into the house, he found that the animal had vanished during his absence—he naturally looked after his …., and saw at distance a young man riding him at a slow pace—when arrived at the corner of Liffey street, the prisoner went into canter, and the witness into a gallop, in consequence of which he succeeded in having the prisoner stopped—on asking him what he wanted with the horse, he said that he merely wished to exercise him—-witness said that he should exercise himself in the police office, and had him accordingly conveyed to Henry street office, from whence he was committed for trial. The prisoner was found guilty. Saunders News-Letter, 12 Sep 1827.
