Family connections for Hugh (Dogherty) are: DOGHERTY ??? (Dogherty) produced perhaps 2children: 1.James (Dogherty/Dougherty) was born in 1769 at Donegal Ireland. He was tried with his brother James for cow stealing at Donegal in 1790, sentenced to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 7 8 1793 after a voyage of 6months on BODDINGTONS. He seems to have been recorded in 1814 as husband of Mary Ann (Dunbar). He died in 1819 age50. ..[Some details taken from this Website] .. 2.Hugh (Dogherty) was born in 1771 & became a boatman. He was tried with his brother James for cow stealing at Donegal Ireland, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 26 9 1791 after a voyage of 5months on Fleet ship QUEEN. She is recorded in 1806 as Free by Servitude & living with Hugh (Docherty). She apparantly married secondly Hugh (Dogherty). She is recorded in 1814 as wife of J (Dogherty) & in 1828 as with Hugh (Dogherty). Hugh's brother, James was also convicted of the same crime and transported on the ship 'Boddingtons' at about the same time. In the colony, Hugh appears to have had a fairly long term relationship with Mary Ann Dunbar (Convict, Sugar Cane, 1793). No children have been located.
