He was tried with his brother James for cow stealing at Donegal in 1790, sentenced to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 7 8 1793 after a voyage of 6months on BODDINGTONS. He seems to have been recorded in 1814 as husband of Mary Ann (Dunbar). He died in 1819 age50. ..[Some details taken from this Website] .. 2.Hugh (Dogherty) was born in 1771 & became a boatman. She is recorded in 1814 as wife of J (Dogherty) & in 1828 as with Hugh (Dogherty). Hugh's brother, James was also convicted of the same crime and transported on the ship 'Boddingtons' at about the same time. In the colony, Hugh appears to have had a fairly long term relationship with Mary Ann Dunbar (Convict, Sugar Cane, 1793). No children have been located.
