I have just spent hours putting sources for information into this page again when they had been accidentally overwritten and I find they are gone again. I will put them in again when I have several hours to waste.
There may be another child of John Donald and Mary Ann Bury. William Donald born c1841 and died in Westbury Tasmania in 1923 was the father of Leslie Herbert Donald (born 22 Dec 1890). Leslie died in 1891 (29 Jan 1891 according to registration). If he is the Leslie listed as nephew of Mary Ann Kinsella and therefore grandson of John Donald on their grave in Westbury Cemetery, then William Donald is the eldest son of John Donald. No birth registration has been found for William yet. Note that William's son William Donald (died 1899 aged 30) is buried next to John Donald at Westbury. There is a William James listed on the headstone butrest of stone is illegible.

Correction to last note on John Donald's grave in Westbury General Cemetery The inscription reads: In Loving memory of our dear mother Mary Ann Kinsella died 22nd May 1912 aged 73 also her parents brother sister and nephew John D. Donaldson died 24th June 1869 Mary A. died 7th April 1887 Charles died 24th Aug. 1873 Isabella died 25th Oct. 1890 Leslie died 17 Feb. 1891
John Donald is buried at Westbury General (Anglican) Cemetery in a grave with other family members. The headstone appears to have been erected at a later date when his daughter Mary Ann ( Mrs. Kinsella) died. She is one of the family members who used the name Donaldson. At the time of his death John seemed to have been using the name Donaldson. The inscription reads: In Loving memory of our dear mother Mary Ann Kinsella died 22nd May 1912 aged 73 also her parents brother sister and nephew John D. Donaldson died 24th June 1869 Mary A. died 7th April 1887 Charles died 24th August 1873 Isabella died 25th October 1890

Advertisement in Launceston Examiner of 23 April 1867:- F. J. HOUGHTON is instructed by Mr. John Donald to sell on the premises, Havelock Hotel, Westbury, on SATURDAY, 4th of May, at 12 o'clock, without the slightest reserve, The whole of his household furniture, beds, bedding, glass, crockery, and glassware, cooking utensils, &c, among which will be found- HALL.
