___________________________ Margaret Doyle’s IRISH TRIAL in Dublin City, 1802 Freeman’s Journal’ 19 August 1802 page 4, col.4 “TRIALS BEFORE THE RECORDER 17 August “Margaret Doyle and Mary Tyrell stood indicted for having on the 15th of August instant having stolen five pieces of stamped muslin, the goods of John McDermott, who deposed that both prisoners came into his shop in Great Britain Street; that one affected to bargain with his wife about a piece of muslin, while the other, he presumed, took the five pieces away which he found on her person after she left the shop. He also found on the person of her who feigned to bargain with his wife, a piece of white muslin and a pair of stockings, which he could not prove to be his property, not having the marks on them by which he could recognise his own. VERDICT – GUILTY, to be transported for seven years." Although Mary Tyrell was given the same sentence, no record of her being transported has been found.
