Trade, Farm Lab & soldier. Tried Ghazepore, 25 May 1837, 7 years, Native place, Roscommon. Single. Catholic. Can neither read nor write. Relations: 3 Bs, Jno, Thos, Bartholomew, at NP (native place) Ship, Guillardon. Offence: Desertion & making away with his Regimental necessaries.

Tried Ghazepore , East Indies, 25 May 1837, 7 years. Transported for Desertion and loss of Regimental clothing. Single. Stated this offence, Desertion, and making away with my necessaries. Behaviour in Calcutta Gaol good. Constable.- several incidents of misconduct, drunkenness, and punishments. T. of L. 16/3/1843. Free Certificate, No 670/1845.

THE under-mentioned individuals have been appointed constables for the Island of Van Diemen's Land and its Dependencies, under the authority of the Act in Council, 2nd Victoria, No. 22 : Peter Duke, Guillardon, from the 14th instant; Hobart Town Courier, 1 Nov 1839.

Peter Duke was convicted at Ghazipur, East Indies on 25 May 1837 for desertion and loss of regimental clothing. 7yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Guillardon' 1838. Single man. Assignments in Colony. Free Certificate 1845.
