"I am an 8th generation Tasmanian. Susan KELLY born in Hobart in 1950. Edward BURRIS was my 3GGF. He married Frances WATSON (daughter of Richard WATSON convict and granddaughter of Rachel HODDY and Isaac WILLIAMS both convicts). It was Burris' second marriage. Burris and Watson had Anne who married Roland James HARREX. Their daughter, Lily Maud Rebecca HARREX married Frederick George KELLY (grandson of Lucinda Wolseley of Tullycorbet and Dublin, 1st cousin once removed of Field Marshall Viscount Garnet Wolseley). Frederick George KELLY'S son Harry Garnet KELLY was my paternal grandfather by his third son, Terence Owen KELLY."

Frances Burris, nee Watson, was the daughter of Richard Watson, who was a Lancashire man, transported for life, in 1810 on the Ann.
Edward Burris married Caroline Ward 22 Aug 1833, and the marriage was registered in New Norfolk. Mrs. Burris, aged 19, sister-in-law to Mr. Wilde, Surgeon, of Hobart town. Hobart Town Courier, 4 April 1834. He married again, 2 years later, the second time, he was a widower. Transported for G. Larceny. Gaol Report, Badly connected, orderly. Hulk report, Orderly. Confessed this offence, Stealing a watch from a dwelling house, once taken up for being out after hours. Last worked for Messrs Underwood & Lewis at Bristol. F. at Feast Court, West Street. Offences and punishments include: March 31 1828. PW/ Very .. conduct & assaulting the watchman in the PB – Transported to a penal settlement for the remainder of his original sentence. By July 23 1829, it was noted he was F.S.
