Police Office, Campbell Town, May 10, 1828. WHEREAS on the Night of the 5th Instant, a Felon, named MORRIS EVANS, per Ship Elizabeth, sentenced 14 Years, a Native of North Wales, and who does not speak English well, made his escape from Gaol; he stands 5 feet 8 inches high, dark ruddy complexion, grey eyes, and his hair dark brown, and rather curled. These are therefore to authorise all Constables and others to apprehend the said Morris Evans, and to lodge him in any of His Majesty's Gaols, so that he may be forwarded to this Office to be dealt with according to Law. By Order of the Superintendent of Police, ROBERT BURKE, Chief Constable. N. B.— Evans is suspected to have the Free Certificate of Robert Roberts, a Welshman, and a Countryman in of Evans.
