I wish I did know more. In 1859 there was also a John Farrell 24 year old, arriving in Cape Town, South Africa on the Maria Somes, to work as a laborer for a Mrs. Goodman. 22 November 1859 Maria Somes left Southampton for Table Bay. Might John Farrell have been doing a 'round trip'?
