Margaret GAMBION was convicted at Kildare, Ireland on 21 June 1850 for stealing - a carpet. Previous conviction. 7yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen’s Land (Tasmania) per the ‘Blackfriar’ arriving 29 May 1851.

Married (widow ?); 1 child; country servant; aged 27yrs; 4’11 3/4”; Roman Catholic.
Native Place - Queens County, Ireland.

31 Jan 1853: Married Amos EVERETT at Hobart (ref. 37/1/12 no. 668. n.b. Registration index has her name as “Gamtion”.

8 Nov 1853: Ticket of Leave granted.

5 June 1855: Conditional Pardon granted.

22 June 1857: Certificate of Freedom.

John Thomas Everitt b. 23 July 1858 Hobart (ref. 33/1/7 no. 1725). Father - Amos Everitt, labourer. Mother - Margaret Campion (incorrect registration of name - “Gambion”)

Agnes Everett born 5 Sept 1861 at Hobart (ref. 1/8 no. 4639). Father - Amos Everett, labourer. Mother - Margaret Everett formerly Gambion.

6 Oct 1864: Death of Margaret Everett (most likely this Margaret although next of kin not stated on registration) - died in childbirth. Hobart.
