Ancestry: FHL Film No. 993190, Ann Gatherer & George Geddes, 23 June 1838 in Huntly, Aberdeen, Scotland, (Original Data: Scotland, Marriages, 1561-1910. Salt Lake City, Utah: FamilySearch, 2013).

Ann Gatherer is my great, great, great, great grandmother. My cousin discovered that she was living with our great, great, great, great grandfather Robert Gordon and his mother in Aberdeen as they were listed together on the 1841 census. We have been unable to find a marriage certificate, so we can only assume that her marriage to George Geddes broke down, thereafter she met Robert Gordon and had his son, James Gordon.

Ann Gatherer was 35 years old on arrival in VDL. She was born in Grange, Scotland and was transported for stealing 5s., from James Jobson. Ann had a Dark sallow complexion, hazel eyes, black/grey hair, could read and write, protestant, married with 2 children and was 5'1 1/2" tall. 7/3/1854: TOL 2/7/1855: COF Launceston. 1855: Married Samuel Robinson t Campbell Town.
Scottish Old Parish Records show an Ann Gatherer marrying a George Geddes in Huntly, Aberdeenshire on 23 June 1838. Described as "both of this parish". Reference 202/00 0030 0508 Huntly, accessed online 15 May 2011.
