Robert GEGGIE was convicted at Edinburgh, Scotland on 18 June 1838 for house breaking and theft. Previous conviction and imprisonment. 7 yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen’s Land (Tasmania) per the ship ‘Pyramus’ arriving 23 March 1839.
Single man; aged 17 yrs; joiner; has a speech impediment.
Native place: Edinburgh, Scotland.
Assigned to work services.
Sent to Port Arthur Penal Settlement.
Some records of misconduct and punishments but Free Certificate issued 1845.
Robert GEGGIE was accidently drowned when bathing at the Cataract Gorge, Launceston on 6 Dec 1845. Inquest SC195/1/18 (1439)
