1847, 13 August: William GILES, 56, per Isabella Watson – bond, Protestant – was buried in the grounds of the Prisoners’ Barracks, at Hobart, having been a patient in the General Hospital at Hobart. The ceremony was performed by Wm Hesketh (see https://librariestas.ent.sirsidynix.net.au/ Resource RGD34/1/2 no 1614). Note the difference in age given on two official records. His Conduct Record indicates a birth date in 1807, while his Burial Record suggests he was born much earlier. Of the two, the former is deemed more reliable.
