Sarah Greenhalgh was transported on the Margaret, departing 5th Feb 1843 and arriving 19th Jul 1843 with 158 passengers.
Built 1829 at Chepstow. 365 tons. Female prisoners were transported to New South Wales on the 'Margaret' in 1837, 1839 and 1840. The 'Margaret' was the last convict ship to transport female prisoners to New South Wales. Another voyage to Van Diemen's Land in 1843. The 1840 sailing also carried 17 free female passengers and one male. The registers of persons is not yet complete on this web site, so please note this if researching. (A work in progress.)

Place of origin: Bolton, Lancashire Age; 23 years [born abt. 1820] Mother; Betty & Sisters: Betsy & Charlotte at Native Place [Bolton] 3 years on the Town Offence; Stealing money from the person 10/- Previous convictions; 3 months for stealing a piece of cloth, and stealing from a garden, 4 months and again 3 months. Status; Single Australian Convict Transportation Registers Trail Date; 29 August 1842 Noted against name; DIED; 7 November 1845 1845 - 7 November 1845. Inquisition DIED; by the visitation of God, and the immediate cause of death was from Convulsions brought on by the pressure of a tumor of Bone on the Brain.
