Catherine Grey was transported on the Surrey Or Surry, departing 28th Mar 1840 and arriving 13th Jul 1840 with 214 passengers.
Built at Harwich in 1811 a square-rigged transport ship of 443 tons and copper lined she had two decks with a height between decks of 5 ft. 8 ins. In 1818, she had a major refit increasing the decks (and convict carrying capacity) to three. She was owned by the London firm of F. & C.F. Mangles.

New South Wales, Australia, Convict Indents, 1788-1842 Non-Annotated Printed Indentures 1840-1842 Married protestant who could read. 1 child on board 10 months old. Has 2 female and 1 male children. Tried 25/2/1840, two previous convictions of 2 yrs and 6 months. 5' 2 1/4" fair ruddy and freckled complexion, brown hair and grey eyes.
