Catharine Grundy was transported on the Margaret, departing 5th Feb 1843 and arriving 19th Jul 1843 with 158 passengers.
Built 1829 at Chepstow. 365 tons. Female prisoners were transported to New South Wales on the 'Margaret' in 1837, 1839 and 1840. The 'Margaret' was the last convict ship to transport female prisoners to New South Wales. Another voyage to Van Diemen's Land in 1843. The 1840 sailing also carried 17 free female passengers and one male. The registers of persons is not yet complete on this web site, so please note this if researching. (A work in progress.)

Catherine Grunday, 19, Alice Barnsley, Sarah Ralph, 21, and Henry Woods, 18, charged with stealing at Blackburn, one sovereign, 5 crowns, 10 half-crowns, 20 shillings, 40 sixpences, a pike, and a book, the monies and property of Christopher Hindle. Mr. Brandt had the prosecution. Grundy to be transported for seven years; Barnsley imprisoned six months, Ralph four months, and Woods no bill. Preston Pilot 27 Aug 1842.
