John Hay was convicted at Glasgow on 01/10/1847 for theft and given a 7yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Blenheim', arriving 24/07/1850. Slater by trade; aged 49yrs; married, 2 children; 5'5". Native place - Paisley. Gaol report: Good, can be well recommended. 25/02/1851: Ticket of Leave Died in hospital, Hobart 16/12/1851.
