Rosina Homer was transported on the Margaret, departing 5th Feb 1843 and arriving 19th Jul 1843 with 158 passengers.
Built 1829 at Chepstow. 365 tons. Female prisoners were transported to New South Wales on the 'Margaret' in 1837, 1839 and 1840. The 'Margaret' was the last convict ship to transport female prisoners to New South Wales. Another voyage to Van Diemen's Land in 1843. The 1840 sailing also carried 17 free female passengers and one male. The registers of persons is not yet complete on this web site, so please note this if researching. (A work in progress.)

Age; 22 years Status; Single with one child [3 years old] Occupation; Nurse Maid and Needle Woman Native Place; Cambridge Row Ship Character; Lazy 1843 - Date of Trial. 28 November 1842. Offence; Receiving stolen goods. Tried at Old Bailey, London (centl. criml. court). Accused of receiving (for feloniously receiving the same, well knowing them to have been stolen; against the statute, &c.;). Found guilty. Sentenced to transportation. 1845 - DIED; in Hospital - 31 January 1845
