NEWSPAPER report of his trial: From the Leamington Spa Courier, Saturday 05 July 1851, p1: "County and District News... William Hortin (18), [was sentenced] to ten years' transportation, for having stolen two handkerchiefs and a scarf, and 10s. 6d., the property and monies of John Middleton, of Eatington." --0--
