n.b. a note in Conduct Record implies his proper name may be "William Hutchinson LEE", however he is indexed under "William HUTCHINSON". He also states he came to Twofold Bay on the 'Recovery' about 9yrs ago, so there maybe another record for him. VDL details: William Hutchinson was convicted of embezzlement at Adelaide, South Australia, Nov 1850. He had gone overland to Adelaide from Port Phillip Bay. Transported from Adelaide to Hobart, VDL per the 'Antares' arriving 2 Jan 1851. Labourer; aged 35yrs; 5'4 1/2"; single; Presbyterian; can read. Uncle: James McCulloch, New York. 1yr Probation Period. Cascades (south Hobart) Station Gang Several notes of misconduct and absences without leave. Ticket of Leave granted 6 May 1856 Conditional Pardon granted 9 June 1857 Certificate of Freedom granted 30 Nov 1857
