19/4/1839 Essex Standard Essex, England: John Girkin, 23, labourer, was convicted of having stolen a lamb from G. Jackson, jun., at Bradwell, and John Pinner, a labourer, of feloniously receiving the same.— Girkin, 10 years' transportation, and Pinner, who had been before convicted of the same offence, transportation for life. John Pinner arrived per Maitland 1840. Native Place: Essex. 5'9" tall, dark ruddy complexion, dark brown hair, blue to grey eyes, scar under right eye, mark of a small burn under left ear, mole on upper right arm, third finger of left hand a little contracted. 8/8/1844: TOL Bathurst. September 1862: Was at Burrowong, NSW. Altered to Wellington 22/3/1847.
