Convict Notes
John Stanford was 14 years old when indicted along with 3 others, aged 9, 13, 14, for stealing the cap off an 8 years old head. John was transported but the other 3 hand their judgment respited. When John arrived he was put in the Carter's Barracks and entered into the Wheelwright's class. 30/5/1833: John Stanford 14, John, No. 32-1244, Brickmaker's Boy, Westminister, 4'10" tall, flaxen hair, grey eyes, fair freckled complexion, lost a piece of front tooth in upper jaw, anchor, 5 blue dots and scar on lower right arm, anchor and other figures, illegible on lower left arm - from Carter's Barracks since 25th inst. - 5th time of running. 9/7/1840: COF
