Granted freedom in 1830 and married Ann Manson, New Norfolk same year at New Norfolk. 3 sons, George Thomas, Jonah Jnr & Gilbert Jonah. Settled at Roseneath near Glenorchy. Following the death of Ann Rodman, a 2nd relationship and then marriage and family with Jane Diana Newman (Stevens)at Battery Point, Hobart in 1854. Successful farmer in the Upper Huon. Buried at Victoria (Huonville)
