FOOTNOTE: Newspaper report of his trial: "CONVICTION OF A POLICE CONSTABLE... Friday, George King, who, when he was taken into custody, was a metropolitan police constable, was convicted at the Middlesex sessions of having stolen a box containing 36 gold Geneva watches, 24 silver spoons, and other articles, worth altogether £400, the property of Messrs.
